Delete Your Chrysalis Bottle Donations Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Chrysalis Bottle Donations account and the personal information associated with it. Chrysalis Bottle Donations is operated by Chrysalis. If you have any questions, contact us at info@chrysalis.ca.

How to request account deletion

You can request deletion in either of the following ways:

Option 1 — In the app (fastest)

Open the Chrysalis Bottle Donations app (or website) and sign in to your account.
Go to Settings → Profile, then scroll to the “Delete Account” section. (Direct link once signed in: /client/settings/account)
Read the on-screen explanation, enter your password to confirm, check “I understand this cannot be undone,” and tap “Delete my account.”
Your account is deactivated and your personal information is removed immediately, and you are signed out.

Option 2 — By email

Email info@chrysalis.ca from your registered email address with the subject line “Delete My Account.”
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and verify your identity.
We will complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by email, letting you know if any records must be retained and why.

What data is deleted and what is kept

Deleted or anonymized	Kept for legal/accounting compliance
Your name, email address, phone number, and login password	Charitable donation records and tax receipt history (required by the Canada Revenue Agency)
Saved pickup addresses and pickup instructions	Financial and accounting records, for the period required under Canadian tax law
Upcoming pickups (cancelled) and recurring pickup schedules (stopped)	Anonymized donation totals that can no longer be linked back to you
Your ability to sign in (the account is permanently closed)	—

Data retention period

Personal information that is not subject to a legal retention requirement is removed immediately when you delete your account in the app, or within 30 days of an email request. Encrypted backups that may still contain your data are purged on their normal rotation cycle, no later than 90 days after the deletion request.

Records we are legally required to keep — such as charitable donation receipts and financial records — are retained only for the period required by the Canada Revenue Agency and Canadian tax law, and are then securely deleted.
