1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Chrysalis web app, a user agrees to these Terms of Use and any related policies posted within the app or on the Chrysalis website. Chrysalis operates public web properties at chrysalis.ca and provides public contact channels for Edmonton users.

2. Purpose of the App

The Chrysalis website states that the organization provides personalized services and opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities and supports employment, volunteer, and recreational goals.

This app is intended to support Chrysalis' services, communications, community engagement, information sharing, and other approved organizational functions. The app must not be used for unlawful, abusive, disruptive, or unauthorized purposes.

3. User Responsibilities

Users agree to provide accurate information, protect any login credentials, use the app lawfully, and avoid any action that could impair the app, interfere with other users, or compromise Chrysalis systems. Users must not upload malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, scrape restricted data, or misuse any communication features.

If the app allows account creation, each user is responsible for activity that occurs under that account unless and until unauthorized use is reported.

4. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the app content, branding, layout, text, graphics, and related materials are owned by Chrysalis or used with permission. Use of the app does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights.

Users may view and use the app for its intended lawful purposes, but may not copy, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, republish, or exploit app content except as permitted by law or with written permission.

5. Availability and Changes

Chrysalis may update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the app at any time, including features, content, and access requirements. The Chrysalis website notes that policy changes may be posted and updated over time.

Chrysalis does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation of the app.

6. Third-Party Services and Links

The app may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party tools or infrastructure. Chrysalis' website includes references to Government of Alberta resources and various organization pages, showing that external resources may be used alongside Chrysalis services.

Chrysalis is not responsible for third-party content, policies, uptime, or practices unless expressly stated otherwise.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. Chrysalis makes no warranties or representations that the app will always be available, accurate, secure, or fit for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms should be read as limiting any non-waivable rights that may apply under law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chrysalis and its directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the app. Direct liability, if any, should be limited to the amount required by applicable law.

9. Termination

Chrysalis may suspend or terminate access to the app if a user violates these Terms, creates security risk, misuses the service, or where suspension is otherwise reasonably necessary to protect the organization, its participants, or its systems.

10. Governing Law

These Terms should be governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, unless another jurisdiction is required by law.
